Organic Hexagonal Design of Motril Footbridge

Guijón Arquitectura, has provides a new concept of pedestrian way to connected between the gardens of the Explanadas and the Park Pueblos de las Américas. It is located in Granada,Spain this Motril Footbridge starts the project from 2010 until 2011. By using organic hexagonal design which is adapted from the future imagination that blending with the surrounding environment, especially existing trees. The structure was made by thick steel that cutting and folding of the thin surface to create a continuous structural element. These structures are based on the lower level for the avenue, to strengthen the gateway tree and its upper bound. The upper surface of this footbridge has been decorated with LEDs  and allows the illumination of the structure.  This footbridge has been facilitating pedestrian traffic and allowing the movement of the persons with motor disabilities. The structure and decoration itself is really fantastic and will become the icon of architectural design of public infrastructure in Spain. All of these pictures taken by Fernando Alda.
